Resources from the ADL
The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) has been in the forefront of combating anti-Semitism for decades. This section contains tools and resources that they have developed over the years. We are working with them to offer workshops at LSS to train us how to use these tools most effectively.
Israel: A Guide for Activists includes sections on how to advocate to the media, elected officials and on campus. It also includes great background material to the whole Israel-Arab conflict. The section with suggestions of how to respond to specific charges against Israel is excellent. Be sure to scroll all the way down to see a list of online resources and web sites to follow, both friendly ones and those of enemies of Israel.
On Countering BDS starts with a description of the BDS movement and then provides a point-by-point rebuttal to the arguments made by the BDS movement.
AJC Campus Affairs
Campus Coalition Building Fellowships
Trusting, two-way intergroup relationships have enabled the Jewish community to build bridges of understanding, advance issues of common concern, and engage allies for Israel. Campus allies are increasingly vital partners in helping the Jewish community confront rising anti-Israel activity. AJC Fellows develop critical advocacy and leadership skills to build intergroup coalitions with non-Jewish campus communities.date this content. For more information, click here
Resources from the Reut Institute in Israel
The Reut Institute was established by Gidi Grinstein in 2004 to create a significant and substantive impact on the future of the State of Israel and the Jewish people and to make an indelibly Israeli and Jewish contribution to the future of humanity. Reut's vision is of 21st Century Zionism - that of the Jewish people's right to self-determination in a secure, prosperous, and democratic state of Israel.
Contending with BDS and the Assault on Israel's Legitimacy: This web site explains what is BDS, why it s so dangerous to Israel's very legitimacy and provides resources for fighting and defeating it.
How to Fight the Delegitimization of Israel The article describes such techniques as driving a wedge between the catalysts of delegitimization and critics of Israeli policy; mainly by isolating and exposing the former and systematically engaging with the latter.
AIPAC's Approach to BDS
For more than 35 years, AIPAC has worked to help students find their pro-Israel voices and strengthen Israel’s position on America’s college campuses and beyond.
Thousands of college and high school student activists participate in AIPAC political leadership training each year to learn the value of the U.S.-Israel alliance, the importance of pro-Israel political activism and how to engage campus political leaders to defeat BDS.
From intensive seminars in Washington, D.C. where students meet with members of Congress, to rigorous trips to Israel to learn about the issues first-hand, AIPAC empowers rising activists to help build the pro-Israel community on and beyond campus. AIPAC also welcomes thousands of students to Policy Conference each year, the nation’s most widely-attended pro-Israel event.
AIPAC-trained student activists learn that the best way to counter animosity towards Israel and anti-Semitism is not by shouting louder, but rather through the diligent work of building relationships with diverse political, racial, religious and cultural communities on campus who recognize the destructive and malicious nature of the BDS movement—and the many benefits of a strong U.S.-Israel relationship.
