Lloyd Epstein Torah MiTzion Kollel

The Lloyd Epstein Torah MiTzion Kollel debuted at LSS in the Fall of 2022. Each year we are joined by two post-army Israeli yeshiva students who, under the supervision of  Rabbi Robinson, teach Torah to LSS members in small classes and one-on-one, they engage with members of LSS of all ages, and  inspire our Israel programming. These young men become a part of our community and develop lasting friendships with LSS members along the way.

Our dear, departed past president Lloyd Epstein z”l played a major part in the previous version of this Kollel, by hosting, mentoring and learning with the Kollel students, in the process also forming for himself and his wife, Judy, lifetime relationships with these fellows. We cannot think of a better way to commemorate Lloyd’s memory than to have named the Kollel in his honor as his lasting legacy to LSS.

Thanks to a challenge grant from the Applebaum Foundation, under the guidance of its Board members Jim Kaufman and Michael Doppelt, a grant has been secured for half of the funds for this initiative, but additional funding is still needed.
