Lloyd Epstein Torah MiTzion Kollel

We are pleased to announce an exciting new learning initiative   at LSS, the Lloyd Epstein Torah MiTzion Kollel!

Beginning in fall 2022, we will be joined by two post-army Israeli yeshiva students who will, under the supervision of  Rabbi Robinson, Rabbi Zolty and Rabbanit Schwartz Zolty, teach Torah to LSS members in small classes and one-on-one, will engage with members of LSS of all ages, and will inspire our Israel programming. These young men will live near LSS and will be part of our community, hopefully developing friendships with LSS members.

Our dear, departed past president Lloyd Epstein z”l played a major part in the previous version of this Kollel, by hosting, mentoring and learning with the Kollel students, in the process also forming for himself and Judy lasting, lifetime relationships with many of them. We cannot think of a better way to commemorate Lloyd’s memory than to name this Kollel in his honor and as his lasting legacy to LSS.

Thanks to a challenge grant from the Applebaum Foundation, under the guidance of its Board members Jim Kaufman and Michael Doppelt, a grant has been secured for half of the funds for this initiative, but additional funding is still needed.
