Shabbat Across America Sponsorship
We want you to be a 2019 Shabbat Across America Sponsor!
Dear Friend,
On Friday evening, March 1, 2019 Lincoln Square Synagogue will enthusiastically participate in the 23rd annual Shabbat Across America and Canada program. This historic Shabbat Across America and Canada campaign, created and coordinated by NJOP, was an outgrowth of ‘Turn Friday Night Into Shabbat’ that began in 1980 at LSS. This dramatic and exciting international program has become one of the most acclaimed National Jewish programs, successfully engaging unaffiliated Jews across North America.
This year, we are delighted to announce that our own beloved Dasha Rittenberg, Holocaust survivor, will be speaking about “Shabbat, before, during and after the Holocaust.” Dasha is a compelling personality, with a most compelling personal story. It will surely be a memorable evening.
Shabbat Across America and Canada introduces Jews, many for the first time, to the customs and traditions of Shabbat at an interactive, Friday night service followed by a festive Shabbat dinner. This extraordinarily successful program that is hosted in hundreds of communities across the USA and Canada, will be attended by tens-of-thousands of North American Jews. Our synagogue has always been a part of this international engagement effort, and we're hoping it will be a major success again this year in our own community.
Although we do charge participants a fee to attend this event, the cost of hosting the event greatly exceeds the revenue. Many of you have been consistent supporters of LSS’s engagement programs and we turn to you once again. This year, however, based on the projected increase in participants, we must also look for new supporters.
You can join us by visiting lss.org/saasponsor to sponsor this exciting program.
By encouraging your friends to come on Friday night, March 1, 2019 and by helping to provide the funds to host this event, you are participating in the great mitzvah of Kiruv that will enable many of our fellow Jews to connect with a most inspiring Shabbat experience.
Surely you know Jewish friends and family members who would greatly benefit from this exciting program. We urge you to encourage them to come on Friday night, March 1, 2019. By helping to provide the funds to host this event, you will be participating in the great mitzvah of Kiruv that will enable many of our fellow Jews to connect to their beautiful heritage with this most inspiring Shabbat experience.
Thank you in advance for your continued support in this vital effort. Again the link to register or to donate is lss.org/saasponsor.
Sincerely,
Tova & Assaf Alster, Deborah Bendheim and Natasha Zekry
