It’s the story of Israeli EMTs and paramedics who devote their lives to saving lives. And it’s the story of Americans who feel the urgency of Israeli ambulance sirens from across the globe and join MDA’s rescue efforts with their generous support.

Magen David Adom is Israel’s national ambulance, blood-services, and disaster-relief organization, serving as emergency medical first-responders for the state’s 8.6 million people. MDA is the only organization mandated by the Israeli government to serve in this role, but it’s not a government agency, so it relies on people like you for funding. Through your gift, you’re saving lives.

Learn the fascinating history and latest technological life-saving tools of Magen David Adom, Israel's emergency medical service and blood bank. Representatives from MDA will trace the history of the organization which precedes the State of Israel. (Spoiler alert: Only a tiny fraction of what they do involves saving victims of terror.)

You will learn about the MDA's rescue missions around the world and hear from a young American who served two years in the MDA and see her videos of dramatic rescues.

Light refreshments will be served. There is no fee to attend but please register so that we can plan seating and food accommodations.

This program is sponsored by United Congregations for Israel, a consortium of local synagogues, across denominations, united by our love and support for Israel: Habonim, Lincoln Square Synagogue, Stephen Wise Free Synagogue and West End Synagogue.
