High Holiday Campaign 2015

Dearest Fellow Congregants and Friends,

As you know the synagogue seriously depends on the High Holiday Campaign to meet our budgetary needs. We have never been at greater cross-roads in recent memory. Now is the time to launch our shul into financial stability, now is the time to stand up and be counted, and now is the time to contribute to our communal stability for us and for generations to come.

The trilogy of “teshuva, tefillah  u’tzedakah ma’avirin et roah hagezeraha” can be understood in two ways. The first way is that these modalities of behavior are hierarchical. Repentance leads to authentic prayer which leads to bountiful amounts and forms of charity. This understanding may be appropriate on the individual level. On the communal level, however, these actions are all performed contemporaneously in a perfect blend as a recipe to dislodge any heavenly stumbling blocks to communal success. We need every shekel to achieve success.
