Volunteer Opportunities

To worship together, to play, dine and learn together, we must first gather safely.   

Shana tov and g'mar tov to you all! Particularly our newest members -- welcome!

We appeal to you this High holiday season, with its extended hours of tefilah, youth and learning programs, plus celebratory meals and crowds, to volunteer for our security team. We can not serve our members or community if we can not first offer a safe environment. To this end, please consider joining our CSS team to support three specific goals:

• Children's play space security: we ask that parents train to assist in case of emergency

• Drill preparation and execution: we should hold fire and other emergency drills, including evacuations, which require more volunteers

• Better front door and building sweep coverage: our current CSS team includes familiar faces. Too familiar. The active team is so small that covering all hours of need requires them to serve many and frequent shifts. They need relief

A number of you participated in past CSS training courses, but did not sign up for shifts. Please, consider refreshing your skills and signing up on our schedule.

Please know that LSS leadership is considering ways to better honor and express deepest gratitude to our CSS volunteers in the future. We are beyond grateful for all they do; their work and dedication are existential; we can not and dare not serve you without them.
