Rosenfeld Bio
Meet Chani and Rabbi Josh Rosenfeld
In Rabbi Rosenfeld, we have a rabbi with learning unsurpassed in range and depth who transmits Torah's message with infectious joy. He has demonstrated his commitment to Israel as the "first flowering of our Redemption" by putting his life on the line through service in the Israel Defense Forces. He works to assure Jewish continuity by working in the trenches as a yeshiva day-school educator. Rabbi Rosenfeld's sheer chein draws congregants to him like iron filings to a magnet. And he does it all with unflagging vitality.
Chani Rosenfeld earns her honor not only as Rabbi Rosenfeld's partner but as a congregational force of her own. Chani recognizes that much of a shul's energy comes from its younger members, and she has the drive to draw out that energy. She has initiated a "food train," so parents can focus on caring for their newborns without worrying about making their own meals. As co-Chair of the Young Professionals Committee, Chani takes great pains to make newcomers to the shul feel welcome by integrating them with more established members. And she embraces congregational families by hosting them for shabbat meals.
The rare, remarkable Rosenfelds do all this while being loving parents to Sofie and Noa Emunah. As if that weren't enough, Rabbi Rosenfeld is assuming a leadership position at Manhattan Day School, and Chani serves as a Nurse Practitioner at Memorial Sloan-Kettering.
What's the source of their boundless energy? It's this: Chani and Rabbi Rosenfeld are powered by love -- love for Torah; for Zion; for the Jewish people. And for the Lincoln Square Synagogue.
Join us on June 17 at Lincoln Square Synagogue's 2018 Annual Dinner as we celebrate together and pay tribute to Chani and Rabbi Rosenfeld.
