Meet Susan Ungar-Mero and Steven Mero

To get something done, it's said, ask a busy person. That's why Susan Ungar-Mero and Steven Mero, two incredibly busy people, are so often tapped whenever the shul needs someone surefire for an urgent task. Serve on the Board? "Would love to." Chair the Annual Dinner? "Our sleeves are rolled up." Nominations Committee? "When do we start?" Youth Committee? "Yeah, we have the experience." Hospitality Committee; Greeter Squad; Legal Advisory; Yom Kippur Appeal? "Sure; Happy to; I'm in; I'll make calls while on bed-rest during pregnancy." How did we manage before newlywed Susan and Steven made Lincoln Square Synagogue their spiritual home 16 years ago?

Multi-tasking started early for Susan and Steven. Each has multiple professional credentials. Susan has Board Certifications in both dermatology and pediatrics and now practices adult, pediatric, and cosmetic dermatology in the same Lincoln Towers Building, 150 West End Avenue, where Lincoln Square Synagogue got its start. She is also a highly regarded teacher as a faculty member in the Department of Dermatology at Mt. Sinai Hospital. Steven is both a C.P.A. and a lawyer with a Masters of Law in Taxation. In his law practice, he focuses on trusts and estates.

And, oh yes, did we mention that they're the parents of Ariella, Danielle, Gaby, Sarah, Rebecca, and Jackie? No wonder New York Family Magazine turned to Susan and Steven, with their six kids, for tips on how two full-time working parents can run a family without spinning out of control and have fun in the process! The oldest girls, Ariella and Danielle, leaders of LSS Shabbat youth groups, are already bitten by their parents' bug of giving themselves unstintingly to the betterment of the congregation and the community.

One last thing. If by chance you do not know Susan or Steven, be sure to introduce yourself to them at June 17's Annual Dinner. You will be greeted with warm smiles by two of the most caring, engaging, friendliest members of the Lincoln Square Synagogue family.

We hope you'll join us at Lincoln Square Synagogue's 2018 Annual Dinner as the congregation comes together in celebration to pay tribute to Susan and Steven. Register now for the Journal/Dinner by clicking on this link: lss.org/dinner.
