High Holiday Campaign
Dear Members and Friends:
The survival of the world, according to Pirkei Avot, rests on three pillars: Torah, the service of God, and acts of human kindness. Lincoln Square Synagogue, while, of course, standing on those pillars, has three additional foundational supports that are crucial to its financial survival: dues, the annual dinner, and High Holiday fund-raising.
As we enjoy the benefits of our wonderful new building, one thing has not changed: the payroll must be met, the utility bills paid, our facility has to be maintained, and we must continue to provide the classes and services that have come to epitomize Lincoln Square Synagogue over the years. To ensure that we are able to continue these essential acts, we must raise at least $175,000 in this year's High Holiday Campaign. It is a significant increase over last year's amount, which was generously given to us by over 300 donors.
We feel confident that we will be able to achieve this goal, and, as important, we hope to increase the number of contributors who understand the need and are willing to act on it, to the best of their ability.
It is our fervent hope that you will reassert your commitment to the ideals of Lincoln Square Synagogue by giving generously to the High Holiday Campaign.
May we all be inscribed in the Book of Life for a year of health, happiness, and peace.
