Passover 2020

Keilim Mikvah

The Keilim Mikvah for the immersion of newly purchased utensils remains open. However for people for whom taking new pots etc. to the Mikvah would be difficult, the following procedure should be used:

The new utensil(s) should be declared ‘hefker’ (ownerless), and as they are not considered to be currently in your possession, you can use them.

Please understand that this is obviously an emergency ruling and cannot be relied on during normal times. When it is safe to do so, you should remember to ‘reacquire’ the pots and then immerse them in the Mikvah.

The best way of declaring the utensils as ‘hefker’ is to click here to email LSS Clergy. Please describe the items that you are making hefker.

Siyum for Firstborn

There will be an online Siyum on Erev Pesach. It will take place at 8.30am and further details will be sent out next week.

Biyur Chametz

Instructions as to how to destroy the chametz this year will soon be made available.
