The Melanie Ross Youth Center provides
religious and recreational activities for children in nursery through
eighth grade. Offering weekly Shabbat programs and special holiday-related
events, the MRYC reinforces Torah values through fun and dynamic
programming, and services a wide range of ages and interests. From our Shabbat morning groups to our Junior Congregation, the
youth of Lincoln Square Synagogue can enjoy interactive, age-appropriate
activities designed to prepare them for future years of religious
observance. High school leaders, almost all of whom have grown up
with MRYC, lead the Shabbat programming and participate in special
events. Whether you are a member of Lincoln Square Synagogue or simply visiting
us for Shabbat, we invite you to take part in the MRYC and learn
why L.S.S. youth are among the best and brightest!
The MRYC now has a monthly Parent-Teen Minyan in the Annex-
Teens and parents come daven together followed by a hot kiddush.
If you are interested in sponsoring a future kiddush, please contact
the office.
There will also be a once a month leader-in-training program
(LIT) where teens entering 7th and 8th grade can become group leaders
and help the other group leaders with the younger groups.
LSS has a "Gan Shabbat" program that includes Shabbat
stories & songs for toddlers 3 and under. It takes place from
10:45 to 11:45 in the Toddlers' room.
The Youth department is forming an email list, to help keep
you posted and updated on upcoming events. To join, email Shana
at youth@lss.org.
