SUPPORT ISRAEL!!! - RALLY AND OTHER INFORMATION

By:Rabbi Robinson

January 04, 2009

I am writing to urgently inform you of a rally being held in support of Israel, and other information and links that I hope you will find useful at this present time. The Rally is being held on Tuesday, January 6th (Fast day of the 10th of Tevet) at 12:30 pm, outside the Israeli Consulate, 42nd Street and Second Avenue. We have a duty to publically stand by Israel and express our support for her right to defend herself. This is especially important in the light of the terrible scenes of extreme demonstrations by Hamas supporters, and because of the one sided and anti-Israel reporting of the fighting in the media. I urge you to make very possible effort to attend this rally.

Noach and Esther Bat Mitzvah Dvar Torah

By:Rabbi Robinson

November 01, 2008

Shabbat shalom and I want to thank all of you for all of the very good wishes that we have received from the whole community on the occasion of our very happy simcha, Esther’s bat mitzvah this shabbat. I’d like to say a few personal words in a moment, but I wanted to ask a question on the parsha first…

Why didn’t Noah try to save the world? If Noah either davened to Hashem to prevent the flood, or tried to reach out to any individual, and population to get them to do teshuvah, the Torah doesn’t tell us?

Yizkor and Shmini Atzeret

By:Rabbi Robinson

October 21, 2008

The last parsha of the Torah – Vezot Habracha is the one which is the least spoken about. It seems to me however that it is especially relevant to those of us who are about to say Yizkor this Shminei Atzeret. There are a number of specific lessons I would like to touch on:
