Lincoln Square Synagogue provides a full range of chesed and charitable programs.
Your generosity allows us to support numerous worthy causes. Nearly every day, people with all types of needs come to the Synagogue to seek assistance from our
Chesed Fund. Aside from the numerous individuals that we assist there are three basic categories of Institutions and Organizations that we support: centers of Torah learning, special needs and orphanages. For more information, please contact Rabbi Robinson via the shul office or
rabbi@lss.org.
LSS is commited to servicing the special needs of the aged and shut-ins, through a synagogue sponsored
Social Worker, Susan Kalev. Susan is available to all members and helps organize and encourage a variety of member to member services. She can be contacted at
skalev@lss.org.
Each week
Bikur Cholim volunteers meet in front of the synagogue on each Shabbat to visit patients at Roosevelt Hospital - please check the weekly announcements for current times. New volunteers are welcome and urged to join.
Throughout the year the synagogue holds regular
Food, Clothing and Blood Drives. Check the
calendar for the dates of the next drives.
The Louis Lazar Benevolent Fund provides free meals to those recovering from illness or childbirth and, G-d forbid, those sitting Shiva. The Fund also provides free religious articles (mezuzot, tefillin, seforim, etc) to those in need. The Lea Segre Tomchei Shabbos Fund provides Shabbat food for those in need. Money from pushkas, shiva homes, anddirect donations is placed in the Edwin Rindsberg Chesed Fund. This fund is put in the trust of the rabbi and distributed with discretion.
