The picture to the left shows Rav Harel with his wife Rachel (herself a scholar of note), and their four lovely kids, including their oldest son, who has just entered the IDF pilot training program.
The new Rosh Kollel sent the following email to the LSS Kollel Committee: “Thanks for the warm welcoming. Actually, I am excited too to be a part of so nice a community.
In short, I grew up in Ramat Gan near Tel Aviv. I have learned at Yeshivat Hakotel and Yeshivat Otniel. I have taught at the Hesder Yeshiva Or Etzyon, at Hesder Yeshiva Petah Tikva, and at Midreshet Nishmat [girl’s yeshiva]. I was a Rabbi of Moshav Masuot Yitshak, and during the last seven years I have been a Rabbi in Herzlia Pituah. Nowadays I am finishing my dissertation about Rabbi Moshe Feinstein.
I have four children. A son age 19 in Yeshivat Hesder, a daughter age 18 who goes to Sherut Leumi [National Service], a son age 14 in Yeshivat Makor Hayim (9th grade), and a daughter age 12 who goes to Ulpenat Amana in Kfar Saba (7th grade). My wife’s name is Rachel.
In the beginning I am coming alone; I hope that my family will join me later on. I look forward to meet you and all the other members of the congregation.
See you soon,
Harel
